Meet Cute Giveaway Winners!

Our Meet Cute Giveaway was a success! We are giving away couples sessions all winter, with our first giveaway annouced earlier this month. A bunch of awesome couples shared their stories on our Facebook page (they're still up there, go check them out!), but Laura and Matt stole the show!

They were pretty amazing subjects. Coldest day of the winter yet, at -20 C and they were still game! Then they gave us mochas and homemade cookies, which basically won us over. Their story, written by Laura, is below, along with a selection of images from their shoot.

Wish them a Happy New Year and a Happy Wedding year! They're getting hitched in 2017!

This story always kills me (with a mixture of laughter and crippling embarrassment), but here goes:

I was in my third year at U o Guelph. Myself and a few roommates decided to drive down to Kingston to visit our former roommate and partake in some of the Homecoming festivities going on at Queen's (despite the fact that none of us went there or really liked the place). Keeping with Homecoming tradition, we began our 'festivities' at about 9 in the morning. By noon we were ready to go have some adventures. But again, being that none of us went to Queen's, we didn't really have anywhere to go. So we went to Matt's house. I had never met him, but he had grown up in the same region as my friends and they were buds. So we show up at his house unannounced, more than a little tipsy, ready to party right after he had gotten off a morning shift at work. I immediately knew I wanted to hang out with him, and commenced to pull out all my most enticing moves. Unfortunately, with my judgement slightly out of align, that meant my tap dancing skills. In his kitchen. (but he totally loved it and still talks about it how great it was, despite the fact that I kicked his fridge numerous times during said tap-dance). After showing off my sick moves, our whole group decided to go get some food downtown. Instead of going with my friends, I decided to follow Matt to Saigon Delight, where he so generously shared his spring rolls with me (or just tolerated me sneakily stealing them from his plate).

Later he accompanied us to some sort of house party (though I later found out he absolutely loathes parties and was just doing this so we could keep hanging out). At the end of the night he lent me his jacket because I had forgotten mine, and we exchanged numbers, despite both knowing we would probably never see each other again because I lived in Guelph and he lived in Kingston. I may or may not have cried openly in front of him about this at the time (again, I was a little tipsy)

But we talked/texted/Skyped every single day since we met. He came up to Guelph for a visit at the end of October and a week later I asked him if he wanted to date. A bit of long-distance-relation-ing, a move to Kingston, and then a ring thrown in at the end, and that's about it
