Kingston Photography Giveaways! Round One: The Meet Cute
Okay, here goes! Viara and are have been talking about our themed giveaways and today's the day we start! The winning couple of each giveaway will receive a 2 hour photographic session with both Viara and me!
First Theme: The Meet Cute
Perhaps you've never heard the expression, but you are definitely familiar with the Meet Cute.
From Wiki: A meet cute is a fictional scene, typically in film or television, in which a future romantic couple meets for the first time in a way that is considered adorable, entertaining, or amusing.
You know what we're talking about: two hands reach for the same book or movie at a store, or meet on a train, à la Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or at a party, like the over-the-top meet cute scene between Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in Romeo and Juliet.
Depending on your age, you might remember the airplane meet cute in When Harry Met Sally or the elevator, Smiths-themed meet cute in 500 Days of Summer, with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. There must be something about travelling (airplane, train, elevator) that makes a perfect setting for a meet cute. Must be the fleeting nature of transportation, the diminishingly low chance of seeing that person again had circumstances been different... two ships that pass in the night and all that...
For our first themed giveaway, we want to hear YOUR meet cute story! What was different, romantic, funny, irritating, adorable, or weird about the time you met your partner in life? Did you meet by a stroke of chance? Did you see the same great smile every day for weeks and finally make the move?
We know you're not all Hollywood screenwriters, so we'll give you a break on your scene setting skills, but nonetheless, we want details! Nothing too, ahem, graphic, but give us the lowdown!
In a period of time when so many people meet online, it's fun to hear about random encounters that end with something more. Not that there's anything wrong with online dating, I met my boyfriend online and we totally acknowledge it's a great way to meet people. With this first giveaway, we're going for something a bit different, something out of the ordinary. A meet cute can include an online element, but it'll have to be pretty spectacular to win!
The contest is open now and will close in two weeks, at 12PM on December 4th. Viara and I will act as judges and announce the winners later that day!
