Alicia & Morgan’s Kitchener wedding 🌈 The Tannery Event Centre

Let love shine.

tl;dr: Alicia and Morgan are basically awesome.🥰

Because they’re from Kitchener, we hadn’t met in person (though we chatted over Facetime at length). I had sort of an idea that they were easy going and lovable people, but it was pretty wonderful to actually get to meet them both and see for myself. Here is that story.

I drove up there the morning of, giving myself plenty of time to grab a coffee after I parked.

Both brides were getting ready at the Walper Hotel, a beautiful place I’d wanted to stay at before. The first thing I see when I enter the room: Morgan, happily grinning, and her three bridespeople dressed in CHEETAH robes. Yes, cheetah. It was fantastic.

They pulled it off effortlessly, but it must be said that it looked particularly striking on Morgan’s brother, what with his blond curls and green eyes.

The makeup & hair artists were already at work, prepping everyone. This is cool, because one of my favourite things to do is to get closeup shots of people being made over.

There are SO MANY GOOD MOMENTS when brides and grooms are getting ready for their weddings…

Anyway, soon it was time to go visit Alicia, where her own group of helpful folks was helping her with her cufflinks, hair, suit, and she was similarly helping her brother with his gear.

Her two cute nephews were there, too, and it was actually a little distracting because I’m a HUGE sucker for children, and kids at weddings basically make my day. So yeah, the BEST kind of distraction :P

So now, everyone’s ready, but they haven’t seen each other yet. They wanted to wait until the ceremony, which I think is super sweet.

I walked with Alicia to the venue as the jitters came over their party. Alicia looked boss. Check out that crosswalk photo - she looks like a model for something very cool.

Once at the Tannery, it was nearly time!!

The ceremony room was PACKED!

Alicia and Morgan had this kind of gaze for each other that made the room vibrate. The ceremony went quickly and before long, they were walking out, hand-in-hand, high-fiving excited guests.

Now the jitters floated away completely. Alicia and Morgan stole away for a bit (something I ALWAYS recommend to all couples!) to get a breather and I snapped some photos of them making lovey eyes at each other and snogging. (that’s a British word for making out, which I think is apt here. They snogged all over the place). I read a lot of romance books, so obviously I’m a sucker for good chemistry, and these two pretty much NAIL it in the chemistry department. Swoon.

Next: Cocktail hour. One of my favourite hours… food, happy guests… some people getting progressively happier with the aid of alcoholic beverages. A generally GOOD TIME.

Then dinner was served and during the speeches there were lots of happy tears. I have become a sap in my older age, and can be found quietly emoting over in my corner of the room while snapping away during this portion of the evening. The dessert was also enough to make you cry it was so good.

Fast forward to my favourite part: the dancing. But really, what happens on the dancefloor should stay at the dancefloor. Unless I take a photo…

Well, guys, I’ve talked enough. Words aren’t really very good when the photographs can do it better.

So much love, happiness, and joy that day. I HOPE you can glimpse it for yourselves.

And to Morgan and Alicia: I’m forever grateful you allowed me to be there, to capture every moment, and to follow you around like a crazy paparazzi. I love you both, and wish you a beautiful life together. <3
